Designing and playing with SVG badges
While cleaning up Dropbox, we stumbled upon this mini-project from 5 or 6 years ago that we want to revive today. It's about designing a set of badges for Decidim, the open-source citizen participation platform in Barcelona.
The task was simple: design between 10 and 12 badges to assign to users who achieve certain milestones on the platform. When creating them, we opted for vector design in SVG for the quality it offers at any size and the reduced footprint of the format.
But instead of stopping there, we decided to create this little configurator so that one could play around with the badges' format: change the shape, colors, and customize them to adapt to the different look & feel of the platform's clients.
A fun, playful and straightforward project that we enjoyed developing. Below, we leave you the configurator to try out and play with as well:
