We bring the bacon to your business
We’ve previously discussed why working with us is a smart choice. Today, we’d like to go a step further and explain how working with us means investing in quality and commitment. We’ll also share a few examples of how this materializes in our projects.
Friendly heads-up: This post uses bacon as a metaphor. For our vegan friends, feel free to imagine your favorite plant-based alternative—it’s the same commitment, just a different flavor!
We always strive to convey to potential clients that quality comes at a cost. However, it’s often challenging to highlight the value we provide beyond the immediate solution initially required.
When a client chooses us, they’re investing not only in our technical expertise but also in our ongoing support and our ability to resolve and find solutions to any issues that arise throughout the project.
Committed or just involved? 🐷🥓 vs 🐔🍳
As the analogy goes: “In a plate of bacon and eggs, the chicken is involved, but the pig is truly committed.” Similarly, when we work on a project for a client, our commitment goes beyond mere surface-level participation or meeting the initial requirements.
We immerse ourselves in every stage of the process as if it were our own project. This often means going beyond what was initially planned. On several occasions, we’ve had to collaborate with third parties to resolve issues, optimize tools, and even improve third-party software—both proprietary and open-source. This not only benefits our clients but also the broader community of users who share and utilize these solutions.
The most recent example of this occurred during the development of the e-commerce platform for ultramarinosoctavio.com. What seemed like a straightforward task—integrating Paycomet payment gateway from Banco Sabadell and SEUR’s logistics system into WooCommerce for WordPress—turned into a marathon of troubleshooting due to numerous bugs and inefficiencies in both software integrations.
Thanks to open source technology, which we intensively support and use in our projects over proprietary solutions, we were able to analyze, enhance, and fix various bugs1 in both the Sabadell payment integration and the SEUR plugin. Additionally, we identified and resolved issues in the latest version of WooCommerce itself—the de facto standard for e-commerce in WordPress, used by thousands of businesses worldwide.
This means we didn’t just report issues for others to fix. We also provided solutions to those problems, speeding up the process while prioritizing our clients’ interests and contributing to the community wherever possible.
This approach sometimes surprises the development teams of larger companies. They often thank us for our efforts, though occasionally we encounter some resistance to receiving fixes from an external team. However, this is where the magic of open source and community contributions shines.
Another example: sharing knowledge with the community
A notable case is this technical article we published a few months ago on how to develop a server-rendered multi-language application with Angular.
This post has become one of the most-read articles on our blog among Angular developers and technical readers worldwide. The article resulted from an issue we resolved for the job portal animajobs.com. We spent considerable time finding the best solution to ensure the application functioned as our client expected. Once resolved, we decided to share our experience with the community so others could benefit from our work. Since then, we’ve received dozens of messages and thanks from developers who found it useful.
Expert support along the way
In addition to knowing “which screw to tighten” and delivering high-quality digital products, we continue to support our clients even after project completion, helping them solve questions and make the most of the tools and solutions we provide.
Recently, the SMC Federation of UGT (one of the main trade unions in Spain) consulted us on how to perform advanced edits on their website, which we developed using WordPress Full Site Editing. To simplify the process, we created practical screencasts explaining step-by-step how to address their questions in a clear and effective manner. This way, they can extend and maximize the product independently and with their own resources.
Although it’s daunting to admit, our know-how spans decades (two, to be precise—not that we’re that old!). This translates to quality and solutions that stand the test of time. It’s not just about fulfilling a contract and being involved during the project’s timeline but about building long-term relationships based on trust, quality, and commitment.
If all of this aligns with what you need for your business, and you’re looking for a tech partner who truly cares about the long-term success of your project—and if you have the right budget for it—you can count on us. Drop us a line, and we’ll be happy to collaborate with you.
